The Duke of Edinburgh Award encourages youth aged 14-25 to participate in programs that broaden their skills and in turn, deepen personal awareness. The Award aims to help individuals discover hidden talents and leadership capacities. Since its establishment, the program has had more than 8 million participants from its numerous global partnerships. Students progress through different awards: bronze, silver, and gold. Each level demands increasing commitment and effort, but the process of obtaining the award is self-directed, which in turn, makes the award a unique journey.
As an educational partner of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Canada Star Secondary School strongly encourage students to participate to not only support their university application, but also to cultivate leadership potential. Each participating student sets up personal goals, and with a mentor, explore unique avenues of learning and opportunities for community involvement.
